Sooki Saturdays - Recovery Collective Takeover (Full Venue)

First of all, we would like to take a second to remember what an awesome year 2017 was for us, our family and our peers.

From our monster main stage showcase on the Friday night at Babylon Festival where we played to our largest crowd yet (surely was upwards of 1000 heads), to our first sold out show with Enrico Sangiuliano on Good Friday eve which also happened over the same weekend as our first stage build and theme camp design at Rabbits Eat Lettuce which was absolutely phenomenal.

Following this we had the birth of our RC-Live broadcasting series with Handsdown's Dr Strangelove EP launch in an abandoned warehouse/concrete playground that received some exceptional reach around the globe (72k+ over 2 hours to be precise), and we had the fellas supporting Richie Hawtin & Joseph Capriati at Tell No Tales in June.

July was the month of 'Genesis', the debut release from our head honchos Jydn and Amuze after 3 years of growing the label to what it is today. We threw their EP launch at the beautiful NEW AIJ Studios in Brunswick along with the opening night of Sarah Masson's 'Doing Lines' Exhibition - a night we will never forget. The release reached an overwhelming #4 on the Techno charts, #6 on the Electronica charts and #24 overall for the whole of Beatport. Amazing stuff.

The week later, the crew jumped on a plane and embarked on their Bridging The Gap European Tour with stops and shows in Ibiza (Spain), Lagos and Porto (Portugal), Amsterdam (Netherlands) and Berlin (Germany). It was on this adventure that we established new friendships, relationships and networks in each of these countries that we plan to return in the future to grow and expand on for years to come.

We teamed up with our brothers from up the east coast Bassic Records and released our first collaborative compilation titled 'Symbiosis', which featured 6 tracks from each label, then remixed by the opposing label. The release, also coinciding with an Australian tour with shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne - the momentum was definitely maintained and Symbiosis was quite the success.

Upon returning back to Australia, we ran a number of showcases at New Guernica, Storyville and performed out in the wildlands at the amazing Strawberry Fields festival on board with the Organic Audio crew, on one of the most craziest stage designs we have ever seen.

We also had a number of releases including 'Logos' by our brother Ramsi (ITA), 'Canopies' by miss Made in Paris (to of which was debuted on triple j along with Paris' guest mix and feature interview), 'Head Games' by John Baptiste and Samwise ft. Sophia Sin, 'Dust Dance' by Prosdo, WAVEBACK's 'Make Me King' Remixes ft FlexB,'XYZ' by William Kiss, 'Dr. Strangelove' by Handsdown, 'Oasis' by Terminus43, 'Foreign Prospect' by Fabrication with a stellar remix by Mr. Steve Bleas, 'Intention' by Ben Rama, 'Extol' by Jordan Hoko, 'Hate Without Rules' by Sly Faux, 'Detour' by snilluM, the return of TomNTys with their 'Grumblr' EP, 'Faraway' by Waveback with remixes by BONGANI and ALEGRA, Kalkara's 'Reach' and last but not least - William Kiss' Eyes Wide Shut EP featuring techno heavyweights Drumcomplex, Roel Salemink and Bongani.

:: SOOKI SATURDAYS FULL VENUE TAKEOVER ::

The celebrations for 2017 and kickstarting into 2018 will commence at Sooki Saturdays in Belgrave on Jan 6th. One of the biggest parties out of town and without a doubt will be jamming.

From 9pm onwards will be taking over both levels of the venue, showcasing the range of talent on our roster from the deep depths of house through the wraths of twisted progressive tech and harder hitting thumpers.
