Five years of Recovery Collective: the remixes, track by track

Words by Recovery Collective

Fifteen remixes for the fifth birthday compilation, each introduced by the label as it was sent out in December 2019.

Tomntys

• These two legends have been apart of our family for some time with multiple releases over the last few years as well as some great remixes and this next one certainly does not disappoint. TomnTys have put together a deep and driving interpretation of Alegra’s Extrovert.

Ramsi

• Our Italian maestro, one of the very first international artists we’ve had the pleasure of working with, his signature minimalist approach and very distinct sound is evident in this record as he put his spin on Bongani’s Siderophile.

Alegra

• This young man keeps going from strength to strength, the level of his writing ability is second to none. So much emotion and connection in his music we have had the please of releasing some amazing EP’s over the years, proud to have Alegra on board with his rendition of Fabrications Foreign Prospect.

Bongani

• Bongani has played a pivotal roll in our label since his inception back in 2015, striving to push every element as well as contributing his own unique style to many of our releases along the way. Record of choice is Fabrications Paint the Sky Pink, which he has turned into his rolling gritty & melodic style with one hell of an intro.

Willing & Abel

• Two of our fresh new young guys Willing & Abel are breathing some life into the top end music scene with some epic melodic releases. Their dark and stripped back interpretation of Handsdown’s Dr. Strangelove showcases all the elements these boys are becoming known for.

Amuze

• Our head honcho Amuze! Always setting the bar with another incredible remix. For our compilation he has captured the essence of Jordan Hoko’s Wicked with a real international flavour grabbing elements from different parts of the globe tide together with an unreal balance across the entire layout of the track.

Handsdown & Leigh Boy

• What a thumper! The boys are back, our brothers in arms from Euphorie Bezirk taking over the music scene right now and continue to push their dance floor driven sound. Having a crack at one of our biggest releases Kalkaras Magic, they have kept it simple but no doubt will make you want to stomp those feet.

Steve Bleas

• This gentlemen has proven time and time again his production is second to none, such a balanced overall sound is a testament to his abilities. Steve has put together a progressive and deep version of Made In Paris’s Canopies. Using the elements to perfection taking you on a true melodic journey.

Prosdo

• Our legendary techno maestro Prosdo is back with another belter of a remix this time taking the reigns on Soba T’s Zephyr. Prosdo has been with us since day one contribution track after track and never disappoints. Sticking to his ripping techno style has created a bomb of a remix.

Liam Sieker

• Liam Sieker has played a huge part in our label since joining us, delivering his unique progressive bush style across a number of different release in his time. This time round we have his interpretation of Steve Bleas’s Annex. Wavey and progressive, so many elements intertwined with a grooving percussion section. Enjoy!

Kalkara

• So much about our label was founded on giving young and upcoming producers the chance to share the spotlight and showcase their production, this young man has certainly blown us out of the water. Kalkara is back with a remix of Steve Bleas’s Nuke. Keeping a tradition with a driving techno number, using all the elements to create a remix that will be sure to make you dance.

Doppel

• Sometimes words just don’t do it justice, Doppel is a true staple in the Australian music scene and describing his incredible production can take your breathe away. Choosing an already depth definingying record in Tom Bakers Fleeting moment he has been able to strip it right back and deliver with the progressive chugging remix.

John Baptise

• BUSH KING! one of our scenes finest delivering on a techno bomb remixing TomnTys’s Tremor. Its raw and dark will no doubt take your mind straight to the bush and let your body run free.

Jozef Connor

• Jozzman Tracks boss dawg bringing his fire tech house to our 5th birthday compilation. This sexy and grooving remake of Wavebacks Make Me King is a cracker. Jozef has been a huge support for our label Always bringing us some heat to take home.

Tom Baker

• Another one of our YOUNG GUNS! Tom Baker has released some epic tracks over the years so of course its a no brainer to include this stellar remix of William Kiss’s Project One. Sticking to his nature of balanced melodies over a driving baseline Tom certainly does not disappoint with this one.
