Recovery Collective reaches 150 releases with Fabrication's 'Unremember'
Melbourne. Australian independent label Recovery Collective reaches its 150th release on Friday, April 24th, with 'Unremember', a new single from one of its most decorated artists, Fabrication.
Founded in 2014 by Jiayden Mills (JYDN) and Ben (Amuze) as a bedroom project built to give their friends a platform, Recovery Collective has since grown into one of Australia's most exported underground electronic imprints. Across twelve years, the label has released 450+ tracks from 150+ artists, logged more than 11.5 million streams, and in 2020 was named one of Beatport's top selling labels of the year, sitting alongside Afterlife and Diynamic.
Fabrication, the solo project of Melbourne producer Billy Garrett, has been central to that story. Since signing his debut 'Foreign Prospect' EP in 2017, he has released seven singles, one EP, and a full length album ('Colors', 2020) on the label, making him the most released, highest selling, and most charted artist in the RC catalogue.
His breakthrough record 'Dustpig' spent 37 days at #1 and over 200 days in the Top 100 on Beatport's Melodic House & Techno chart, earning plays from Adam Beyer, Armin van Buuren, Joris Voorn, Hardwell, Matador, Moritz Hofbauer, and Hidden Empire, and features on BBC Radio 1 from Pete Tong and Annie Nightingale. Follow ups 'Blue' (from the label's inaugural Alliance compilation) and 'Hot Foot', paired with a remix from Australian veterans Jamie Stevens and Anthony Pappa, extended that reach, with 'Hot Foot' still in rotation from Carl Cox, Gorgon City, James Hype, Dom Dolla, Diplo, Meduza, David Guetta, ZHU, John 00 Fleming and more.
'Unremember' continues that trajectory. A pumping, driving cut built on evolving polyrhythms and winding synth lines, the track moves with an abstract, dark, unpredictable energy. True to Fabrication's signature sound, it constantly shifts and unfolds, pulling the listener through layers of tension, movement, and controlled chaos. A track built for deep, immersive dancefloors.
"He is the most released artist on the label, the highest selling, and one of my closest friends," says label co-founder JYDN. "Billy has been part of Recovery Collective for most of its adulthood. It only felt right to have Fabrication anchor such a milestone. 150 is proof that if you stick with something long enough, passion prevails. And that's true for both the label and for him."
The release also signals a new chapter for Recovery Collective, with a refreshed platform and further announcements tied to the label's upcoming 12th anniversary to follow in the coming months.
